Since October 7th 2023, the genocide in Gaza has claimed over 68,000 Palestinian lives, over 20,000 of which are children. More than 170,000 individuals have been injured, with many still trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings. Gaza’s infrastructure has totally collapsed, as homes, schools, and hospitals have been decimated – approximately 83% of all buildings, and 92% of homes have been destroyed. 94% of hospitals are damaged or destroyed – there is no fully functioning hospital. As for education, there are no schools now left in Gaza. Over 90% of Gaza’s population is displaced, with people living in overcrowded shelters or temporary tents.
The healthcare system is struggling under immense pressure, with any hospitals that are left, barely functioning due to severe shortages of supplies, electricity, and water. Food and clean water remain critically scarce, leaving families without the essentials needed for survival. Famine has been declared.
Mission Salaam has been actively working to address these dire needs. During Ramadan 2024 and the months that followed, we provided meals and access to clean water to countless families in Gaza. Additionally, Mission Salaam sent vital medical aid through our trusted partners, ensuring that assistance reached those suffering under the collapsing healthcare system. This support has been a lifeline for our brothers and sisters in Gaza, who face an overwhelming lack of food, clean water, and medical care.
While a ceasefire has been declared, the dire conditions continue, and we thus urge our donors to continue their generous support. This aid is not only critical for immediate survival but also provides hope for those enduring unimaginable hardships. Your contributions are making a difference, helping the people of Gaza withstand this unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
Together, we can create a world where the message of love from Islam resonates in every heart, transcending barriers and building a harmonious global community.
